The presidential nominee received an overwhelming 100% endorsement from the assembly members 29 out of the total 29 votes cast.
He was unanimously confirmed by the 20 elected assembly members and 9 government appointees who took part in the voting process.
The election was supervised by the Northern Regional Electoral Commission and he was sworn in by the Northern Regional Minister Salifu Saeed.
The Northern Regional Minister Salifu Saeed called for unity among party and assembly members in the region.
According to him, the confirmation of the Mion DCE will fast track the implementation of the good policies government has for the people of the district.
He advised the elected District Chief Executive (DCE) to seek the views of chiefs and opinion leaders in the area before implementing programmes.
The elected DCE, Hashim Abdallah Mohammed thanked the assembly members for reposing confidence in him.
He assured the people that he would make sure that developmental projects are implemented in the district to create jobs for the youth.
Mr Hashim Abdallah Mohammed promised to operate an open door policy irrespective of one’s political or tribal affiliation.
