Obinim demo to hit Mahama

Obinim Supporters And Police Angry supporters of Bishop Obinim

The youth wing of the International Godsway church has given the Mahama-led government 24 hours to release their leader or face their wrath.

According to a statement signed by National President of the Youth wing in the church, Solomon Adeyia, government is using Bishop Daniel Obinim as guinea pig to divert the backlash following the pardon of three persons jailed for scandalising the court.

“We find disgraceful how government has decided to score cheap political points by lying and humiliating an ordained man of God in police custody” the statement said.

On Wednesday morning Bishop Obinim was sent to the CID Headquarters where he was questioned for allegedly defrauding someone to the sum of GH¢11.6 million in a gold business.

Clad in red attire, the congregants’ chanted “No Obinim, no vote” as they tried to enter the premises of the Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters.

His church members have vowed to stage an anti-Mahama demonstration if the man of God is not released.
