MMDAs Asked To Enforce Sanitation Bye-Laws

The Brong-Ahafo Regional Coordinator of Zoomlion Company Limited, Mr. Solomon Denyo, a waste management company, has called for the metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies, to strictly enforce their bye-laws on environmental sanitation.

He said this was necessary for the safety and health of the people – to prevent diseases.

He made the call during a clean-up exercise organized by the company in Sunyani.

Mr. Denyo complained about insanitary conditions – indiscriminate dumping of refuse and said things needed to radically change.

The bye-laws must be respected by everybody, he added.

Workers of the waste management company spent about four hours to remove garbage and clean the gutters.

Mr. Denyo appealed to the Sunyani Municipal Assembly to provide and place refuse containers at vantage points to stop people from littering.
