A new study has revealed that the University of Nairobi is the most preferred higher learning institution by both students, parents, and employers.
If you thought all the stone throwing made it harder for UON students to get jobs, think again. A study commissioned by Madison Insurance last month revealed that 24% of students preferred to school at UoN while 49% of parents said they preferred their children to get their degrees at the same institution.
20% of the students said they preferred Kenyatta University and 8% said they preferred JKUAT. Moi came in third at 6%. Among private institutions, students preferred UISU followed by Daystar and Mount Kenya.
Here is the breakdown of how employers prefer public universities:
1. University of Nairobi (84%)
2. JKUAT (63.9%)
3. Kenyatta University (57%)
4. Moi University (45.6%)
5. Egerton University (19.6%)
6. Maseno University (6.3%)
7. Masinde Muliro University(3.8%)
