The court heard that the complainant, who is a commercial bus driver together with his mate, apprehended the accused and handed him over to a highway police patrol team after they detected his luggage contained quantities of the illicit drug.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Samuel Aboagye told the court that on January 25, 2017, the complainant was driving a Hyundai bus from Kpong to Ho and picked up Fofo at Tsito-Anyirawase carrying along a bag and a fertilizer sack.
The prosecutor said upon reaching Tsawoenu, the complainant stopped to carry another passenger and in the process discovered that the accused luggage contained the narcotic leaves.
DSP Aboagye said 21 compressed slabs of the substance were retrieved by the police and Fofo in his statement claimed ownership saying they were for retail in Ho.
