We Will Prioritize Planting For Foods And Job – DCE

The newly confirmed District Chief Executive of the West Akyem Municipality Mr. Seth Oduro Boadu has stated that the Municipality under his watch will prioritise the President Nana Akufo-Addo’s ‘Planting for food and job’ program to create employment for the teeming youth of his municipality. Mr. Seth Oduro Boadu was speaking to the Daily Statesman after his confirmation by the Municipal Assembly.

Mr. Seth Oduro Boateng who is currently the treasurer for the National Association of Graduate Students (NAGRAT) said unemployment is a very big issue in the municipality and that is where much of his focus will be using agriculture to arrest the menace. He said the situation where weeding was used as means of punishment for recalcitrant students has made agriculture a ‘punitive’ job for most Ghanaians, however he said his administration will sensitise people on the economic impact of Agriculture and make it a major job creation venture in his municipality.

Hon. Seth Oduro is the newest of the President’s nominees for District Chief Executives approved in the eastern Region. He polled 45votes out of the 45Assembly members who casted their vote representing 100%.

So far, none of the president’s appointees for the MMDCE positions have been rejected in any of the Districts/Municipalities in the Eastern Region.
