Mr. Thomas Appiah-Kubi, a tutor at the Saint Monica’s Senior High School (SHS), has received unanimous endorsement by the Asante-Mampong Municipal Assembly as Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).
All the 46 members voted yes for him in an election supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC).
On hand to observe how things went, were the Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr. Simon Osei-Mensah and Nana Owusu Achiaw, a member of the Council of State.
Mr. Appiah-Kubi said he was grateful for the opportunity to serve the people and promised to live up to expectation.
Separately, the Sekyere Central District Assembly, has voted to approve the nomination of Mr. Kwadwo Banahene Bediako as the District Chief Executive (DCE).
He was given a 100 per cent vote by the 38-member assembly.
Mr. Bediako, until his appointment was the Assistant Registrar of the Christian Service University College.
He pledged to work with everybody to bring development to the people in the area.
He would focus on completing all projects started by the assembly, job creation and the development of tourist sites including a network of caves at Kwamang, the Beposo Lake and the Atwea/Abaasua Mountains.
He called for strong support and cooperation of the people to speed up the socio-economic progress of the district.
