A British woman jailed for taking illegal painkillers into Egypt has had her freedom delayed by red tape.

Laura Plummer, 33, was pardoned by the country’s president yesterday, one month after being jailed for three years for bringing 290 illegally brought Tramadol painkiller tablets in her suitcase into the country.
