Light in the Heart (LITH), a Foundation dedicated to youth empowerment, has launched a project to aid orphans and other needy children to live their dreams.
It is combining skills training and mentorship to aid them to make the right decisions.
Mrs. Sussie Bibio of the Foundation said the goal was to give hope to the children – build their self-confidence to achieve life success.
They had started with pilot training of children at the Cherub Charity Foundation, an orphanage at Santasi, Kumasi in photography, cookery and how to play musical instruments – saxophone, drums and keyboard.
She said other crafts and trade would be added, to make their lives meaningful to themselves and the nation.
Mrs. Bibio indicated that children were a priced asset of the society and that was why everything should be done to provide the opportunity for them to fully exploit their potentials and talents.
It was on the account of this that her organization had decided to go beyond giving money and food aid to the orphanages to train the children in skills, to become economically empowered.
That, it was convinced, was the way to go to assure them of a better future – lift them out of poverty and other human indignities.
She added that the project would be extended to cover more orphans and vulnerable children across the country.
Mr. Nicholas Osei Bonsu, Founder of and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cherubs Company Limited, applauded the Foundation for what he described as its ‘wonderful project’.
He underlined the need for everybody to help care for the orphaned, the less privileged and the vulnerable in the society.
He asked that they showed love to such people to make things better for them.
