I Married Again After Exit Of My First Wife

Kumbungu Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Ras Mubarak has parried claims he has taken on a second wife following a marriage ceremony over the weekend.

He said he married his cousin after his first wife packed out of their matrimonial home in the lead up to the 2016 general elections.

“I just remarried yesterday after my wife then, packed out and sued for divorce,” the lawmaker clarified the issue on his Facebook page.

Mr Mubarak married Huseina Mubarak who is the daughter of his uncle and Minority Chief Whip, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak.

The wedding ceremony drew attendees from entrepreneurs and politicians from both the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Hours after the ceremony, there were reports on social media he has married a second wife.

As an unapologetic believer in polygamy, Mr Mubarak said he is not afraid to take on another wife. But what he did over the weekend was simply to remarry, he added.

Mrs Huseina Mubarak, – my new and only wife – and I, are very grateful to colleagues from the NDC and NPP, friends, family and everyone who supported us in diverse ways.
