Schalke’s sporting director Christian Heidel has confirmed that Max Meyer is ‘exploring’ the possibility of a move in the summer transfer window.

Meyer has scored 22 goals in 189 appearances for Schalke since breaking into the first-team back in 2013 but the 22-year-old midfielder is out of contract at the end of the 2017/18 campaign.

The Germany international has rejected Schalke’s offer of a new deal, with a move to the Premier League looking increasingly likely.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool are understood be be expressing a strong interest in Meyer who will be available for free.
