The Nsona family of late Mfantseman Member of Parliament (MP), Ekow Kwansah Hayford has announced the date for his final funeral rites.
The family said the funeral will span over three days.
The spokesperson for the family said the rites will start on the 27th of November with the actual funeral being on the 28th of November at the family house of the late legislator.
The funeral will be followed by a thanksgiving service at the School Kesim AstroTurf grounds at Mankessim from 9:00 am on Sunday, November 29.
Explaining the reason behind the choice of date, the spokesperson said there was a need to lower the late MP’s body before the actual election day of 2020.
The spokesperson made the information known at the MP’s one-week commemoration which took place at Mankessim.
The announcement was made to the hearing of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia who was at the event.
The funeral is expected to come off a month and three weeks after the MP and his driver were shot in what is believed to be a robbery attack on the Abeadze Dominase – Abeadze Duadzi – Mankessim Road on his return from a campaign trip.
Information suggests that two persons have been arrested in connection with the robbery-turned-murder incidence.
