A United Kingdom (UK) based Ghanaian lady, 38, has been quarantined by the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Hospital (Annex) on suspicion of the deadly Coronavirus.
Deputy Director of Nursing Services at the hospital, Madam Cynthia Lamptey, disclosed this to Journalists on Monday, March 16, 2020 when the Parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Cleland Ayaa Ayison, went to the hospital to donate hand sanitizers and tissues as part of awareness creation on the pandemic.
Speaking to Kingdom News in an interview Dr. Cynthia Lamptey Deputy Director of nursing services for the hospital indicated that the patient has been quarantined and will be transferred to a bigger facility for further test.
She disclosed this to the media when the NDC parliamentary candidate for Weija Gbawe constituency donated hand sanitizers, detours, tissues, and other antiseptics to the hospital few hours past.
The deadly Coronavirus has been declared a global health emergency by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Last Thursday, the Ghana government officially confirmed that the country has recorded its first two cases of the coronavirus.
The coronavirus cases have since increased to six, with over 150 contacts traced by the Ministry of Health.
This has led to some travel restrictions into the country, with President Akufo-Addo also announcing a ban on all social gatherings and sporting activities.
