Assin Central Member of parliament, Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has angrily produced pictures and told President Akufo Addo that, the practice of democracy under his leadership is gradually becoming weak.
Mr. Kennedy Agyapong indicates, the security of the country is now being run by the opposition National Democratic Congress, whilst the NPP remains in power.
He adds that members of the NPP are being molested, whilst justice has been shelved under the carpet. He believes, if democracy is indeed being practiced very well under Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, justice will never be denied to NPP members, who are suffering in the hands of the NDC.
Speaking on his NET 2 television station, Mr. Kennedy Agyapong released pictures of some young men who have allegedly been shot at Asunafo South, whilst the perpetrators are still roaming in full day light.
“These pictures are from Asunafo south. Those are bullets in the body of the young men. The leadership of the NPP must put their feet on the ground. Talk to the President, Nana Akufo Addo, and he should also talk to the security, because the guys who shot this NPP boys are still walking free with impunity.
When we were in opposition, they molested us, now that we are in power too, they are still molesting us. If this should continue, how will we get people to help us monitor the polling stations. What kind of democracy are we practicing under our own President?” Mr. Kennedy Agyapong intimated.
Mr. Kennedy Agyapong added that, the NPP is behaving like cowards whilst the NDC carries out all their plans with impunity.
They are molesting our people and no actin has been taken. This is so sad. their strategy is to scare people from going out to vote and we are there looking at them as if we have no control. How can we be in power and be intimidated by opposition party? how is this possible and you say this is democracy, I don’t believe so. The President should wake up, we are in power”. Mr. Kennedy Agyapong noted.
