The Eastern Regional Director of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr Alberta Adjebeng Britwum-Nyarko, has warned all health workers in the region under her directorship to desist from engaging with the media on the novel coronavirus, except for educational purposes, or face her anger.

In a strongly-worded letter addressed to all health facilities and all municipal and district health service directorates, Dr Britwum-Nyarko expressed disgust and disappointment over the many media engagements health workers have had with the express approval from their superiors, adding that such engagements have set the regional directorate’s teeth on edge – the engagements have been unpleasant and annoying to the directorates.

“Anyone found to have given any information to the media on COVID-19 without the express approval of the Regional Director will only have his or herself to blame. This is the last note of caution on this matter,” the letter warned.

Health workers across the country have consistently complained about the lack or dearth of personal protective equipment(PPEs), which are key to the fight against COVID-19.
The Eastern Region has recorded a record … cases after not recording any cases for a long time….
