Security forces ensuring that Ghanaians observe the lockdown have detained citizens who are roaming about aimlessly amid the lockdown and have made them sit with them until they are released of their duty.
In the sixth address of the nation on the updates on the measures taken to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus, the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo Addo extended the partial lockdown which was imposed in the Greater Accra and the Ashanti Region by another one week.
In order to ensure that civilians abide by the rule, security officers have been deployed to the restricted areas to enforce the law.
In a video posted by UTV Ghana, some people are being detained by some police officers for not having tangible reasons for stepping out of their comfort zone.
The Ghana Police Service, however, has warned the general public that any civilians found flouting the lockdown order will be arrested.
