Ghana Would Have Been Free From Coronavirus If Nana Addo Closed Down Borders Earlier-Kennedy Agyapong

Controversial businessman and the member of parliament representing the Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has shared his thought on the outbreak of coronavirus in the country.

The Parliamentarian stated that Ghana wouldn’t have recorded any case of the novel coronavirus if President Nana Addo Dankwa-Akufo Addo closed down the borders of the country earlier.

The Ghana Health Service has so far conducted 50,000 tests for the novel coronavirus and has also embarked on a contact tracing exercise in order to curb further spread of the deadly virus.

President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo ina Nation’s address suspended all public gatherings and also announced the closure of all schools in the country.

A partial lockdown has currently been imposed in the Greater Accra and the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

Addressing this, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong in an interview on Net2 TV said that the country would have been free from COVID-19 if the President should have closed down the country’s borders earlier.

“All the efforts aimed at combating the disease are commendable and ought to be observed. Looking at what is happening in America and other countries, we can say we are lucky and the Lord has been good to us. I am certain the country wouldn’t have recorded a single case if we had shut our borders even a week earlier…,” he said.
