After 41 Years, Retired Soldier Finally Speaks About Rawlings And June 4th

It’s been fourty-one years (41) since the Fourth Republic was incepted by the late former president, His Excellency Jerry John Rawlings. All that happened during the period has been misunderstood by many Ghanaians. A retired military leader and friend of the late former president has narrated what really happened.

Fourty-one years after the June 4th Revolution by the Rawlings led Armed Forces Revolutionary Council that toppled the Supreme Military Council, another Military Regime, a former officer commander of the Recce Regiment talked about it.

The Paramount Chief of Tolon Traditional Area, a suburb of the Dagbon kingdom of the Northern Region, major(retired) Abubakari Sulemana, has indicated that whatever that happened during the Rawlings’ era was as a result of evil people.

According to major Sulemana, Rawlings himself was such a calm person who loved others, but he was being pressured by others to undertake such moves he embarked on that did not favour others.

According to him, Rawlings was given punishments by his superiors to get him endulge in some acts.
