A place in Ghana where gold is easily picked on the ground when rain fall heavy.

Ghana is richly endowed with mineral resources including bauxite, manganese, diamond and gold.

It is asserted that almost every part of the country is fortified with this precious mineral resources and henceforth the former name Gold Coast.

Most of Ghana’s developmental projects that are largely scattered across the sixteen regions being it schools, hospitals, markets, roads etc were generated from gold, cocoa and other commodities.

Gold sells at a very lucrative price and it is in view of this that a lot of Ghanaians over the years have busily entered into mining both registered and the illegal galamsey.

It isn’t difficult to figure out most people in the Ghana who had never set an eye on a raw gold left alone the refined ones except their pictures found in books television etc.

The uses of gold can never be downplayed in various ways in our society which includes jewelleries, coins, some part of machine.

In Ghana, most of our gold mining hubs are found in Obuasi and other part of Ashanti region, Tarkwa, Ahafo, Bono region, Techiman East, Central, Western North Oti region and others.

A place called Adobewora close to Nyinahin in the Atwima Mponua district of Ashanti is where gold particles or debris are found in the soil whenever there is a heavy downpour of rain.

It is even common to see people digging smaller holes in the earth so that when it rains, the eroded soil particles could fill it and once the rain stops they are able to fetch the soil and wash it for the gold.

Some of the gold particles are also picked by using broom to stir the deposited eroded soil particles on the ground.

Such gold is found in the ground and when it rain heavily the running water causes it to be washed and mingle with the eroded soil particles.

The funny aspect of it all is that, when it rains heavily in the night, early in the morning, you could see some adults and children who always rush with their brooms, some branches of tree to various areas to stir the soil for such precious mineral.
