A Fifty-five years woman identified Yaa regret marrying a radio repairer after advances from a soldier 20 years ago.
Marriage is a lifetime decision which for many is available once in a lifetime. The delicate nature of it, required committed couples are who expected to become one body or soul.
Every marriage in our modern world is built on relationships, though sometimes some can drag as long as 20 years. It is reasonable for everybody to go through before finally settling for the marriage.
A good relationship expounds the hidden characters of the participants for changes to be made, or discontinue.
The trouble from some notorious ones is such that they hibernate their true characters until they are married.
In most estimates, girls or women are the suspects. Little is known of men.
Accra News Female Editor finds out, in special reports.
A 55 years mother of five somewhere in Accra, identified as Yaa narrate her ordeals.
I was young and around 18 years when my mother sent me to learn function designing as my occupation since I can’t proceed to the University level.
Two years into my training a Ghanaian identified as Franklin started pulling up on my ways.
Initially, I don’t take him seriously until one day he took me to a shop and bought me some lady’s essentials. At this point, I don’t take pocket money from my mother again because Francis decided to take care of me.
Two months after Francis took me to the shop, I saw my classmate in a military uniform close to my shop.
He called me and I went but after exchanging greetings he asked that I did been his future wife. I said NO it can’t be, I have a radio repairer already I can’t marry you.
The soldier went to my mother asking her to speak for him, I still say NO I have someone else.
Ten years into the marriage with radio repairer, his job spoilt as chip base gadgets like mobile phones or smart electronics move people away from a radio. My husband I know started drinking and beating me until I run away to my father’s home, while in my father’s house he came to beg but I refused to follow him back.
My husband upon realizing I am not interested to follow her back to his home decided to share my room with me. Initially, he stops taking alcohol which caught my attention to believe he has changed. But NO is just a pretense to have the support of my family to allow him to stay in a woman’s house.
His alcohol consumption has grown worse than before and sometimes, he fights with his children over a provocation he did cause.
The man I despised that I am not going to marry drove past by when my husband and I are fighting on the street.
Three years later, he met me again at a funeral and he instructed one of his boys to give me his card.
I am planning to ask him to help one of my children get into the army but I am holding myself; that I have wasted a nice opportunity in favour of a radio repairer, why was I too blind, I regret what I have done to myself.
