They gave me money and told me it will last, they didn’t tell me I will lose my wife in return

The choice of words is very delicate and highly favored if you know the right words to use at certain point in time. Over the years many have wished for something great but their wishes never came through because they didn’t know the choice of words to use during that wish. If you use the right words carefully, everything you need will come to you but at a high cost. It is with words that Tanko used, and it was the right words he used that got him were he is now. It is the same words that has landed him into mourning his dear wife.

Tanko after graduation from high school in 2001 didn’t have a future as the Muslim family he was from didn’t have what it took to get him further his education. Tanko was not also a bright student academically but was very business oriented so Sister Amina, a neighbour of Tanko took him to see his friends at the market and they promised to help him. Tanko met Agya Attah a 56 year old man who was into spare parts business through Adizza, Sister Amina’s friend.

Sister Amina at her youthful age, just three years older than Tanko was very hardworking and hard her own one-woman business. She was into selling of Sobolo, a local beverage made out of ginger and leaves. Adizza was Agya Attah’s wife and Amina was Adzza’s friend and customer. Tanko started the job on a well note. The services of Agya Attah in the spare parts business made him have loyal client which were super rich and classy individuals.

Tanko couldn’t take his eyes of Sister Amina who helped him secure a job and kept dreaming about her. Sister Amina found out Tanko wanted to say something but she was older than him and didn’t want to disgrace herself so she kept waiting for Tanko to be a man and speak up. Tanko after two years of working with Agya Attah became bold to speak his heartfelt message to Sister Amina and that became the start of a new life for both of them.

Whiles Tanko was working with Agya Attah, Amina too was keeping her Sobolo business and they managed to make little savings from it. It was the first time both of them has found love so they never cheated on themselves and kept growing together. Agya Attah been a principle man forced Tanko to get married so he can focus on his work. Addiza and Agya Attah helped them with something and both Amina and Tanko were able to organize something small for their wedding.

Three weeks after their wedding, Tanko met with a 2020 x7 SUV machine which needed tyre fix and oil changed. Tanko raised his eyes to the skies and mentioned his God’s name saying it loud that, HE should bless him with enough money he can never finish eating so he can buy luxury cars like the x7. The owner of the car who saw the amazing display of courage from Tanko told him to come and visit him after work. Agya Attah warned Tanko on staying away from the man and concentrate in his job, because it is that job that has been feeding him and his wife.

Tanko didn’t listen to the words of the old man and went to see the owner of the x7 that evening. He passed onto Tanko blessings of blessings and told him he should take a bag and go home. Tanko picked the red bag and he went home. The instructions was to open the bag at night and everything in it will be his. He should not come back and look for the man again and neither should he go asking for help again because help has found him.

The man asked Tanko whom he loved and he made it known that his wife is the bona-fide lover of his life. The man asked for her name and the day she was born and Tanko ignorantly gave it as expected, nothing knowing he was offering her wife as sacrifice for the bag. Immediately Tanko got home, she told Amina about the blessings he has found and Amina warned him to take it back but Tanko refused saying, she was enemy of progress.

The enemy of progress Tanko refereed to was not an enemy but the source of his incoming wealth. Tanko woke up in the middle of the night to check his bag and as assured, the bag was heavy this time and when she opened it, it was full of foreign currencies. He went to wake up his wife and Amina was gone. He never understood it until the burial of Amina.
