The president released a statement some few hours after the demise of the former president and founder of the National Democratic Congress, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings, stating and declaring all political campaign and health walk to come to a halt for the next 7 days as a way of mourning the dead president.
All political parties in the country has paid heed to this declaration by the first gentleman of the land, but a strange scenario happened yesterday during the President’s visitation at the Odawna market fire disaster that occurred yesterday.
The intention of the President’s visitation was to see things for himself at the sad incident and to console the many victims who lost their source of livelihood, but surprisingly, the whole event metamorphosed into a campaign rally. Check the pictures from the scene below;
You can’t blame the president, the people there couldn’t hide their love for the president and all of a sudden they started shouting the “4 more for Nana” mantra with their four fingers in the air. An event which was supposed to be a sorrowful one turned out to be a joyous one all because of the charisma and popularity of the president.
The president promised to rewire the Odawna market together with all the other major markets in the capital.
Can you attribute the popularity of the president to the good policy he has churned out to Ghanaians?
