The Helping Africa Foundation (HAF) and Friends of Yamoransa (FYF) Foundation on Thursday, November 26, 2020, held a rededication ceremony for the newly upgraded Yamoransa Model Resource Centre in Yamoransa, as part of their aim to impact lives through technology.
The facility which is the first of the eight model labs built across some eight regions of Ghana was originally commissioned in 2016 by former US Ambassador to Ghana H.E Robert P.Jackson. it now comprises a 40-seater ICT lab, a fully equipped home economics centre, a 100 seater conference room, and a Maker Space for Robotics, 3D printing, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Legos, and Arduino for advanced ICT teaching and learning.[embedded content]
Speaking at the rededication ceremony, the executive director of Helping Africa Foundation, Mr Japhet Aryiku stressed that the facility will help improve the technological skills of students in the Yamoransa municipality and its environs at no cost.
According to him, their goal is to build one computer lab in all 16 regions of Ghana
The event was attended by Chief of Yamoransa, representative of the Central Regional Minister, members from the Ghana Education Service, the Municipal Chief Executive, a delegation from HelpingAfrica Foundation and Friends Of Yamoransa Foundation as well as students in the Yamoransa municipality.
A statue was unveiled at the ceremony to honor Deborah Rose, president of Helping Africa and Friends of Yamoransa Foundation.
