Voters Boycott Elections As Officials Met Empty Stations

As Voting is underway in most parts of the Country, voters at Bimbagu in the Bunkprugu Yunyoo Constituency have boycotted today’s General Elections in the area.

According to JoyNews correspondence, voters in the area took the the decision as a result of what they described as bad roads and unfulfilled promises by Politicians.

According to reports, residents in the Community have earlier indicated that, they will not take part in the elections due to lack of development in the area.

The reports further indicate that, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area yesterday went to the Community to plead with them to rescind their decision to boycott today’s elections which they agreed to, but today they carried out their threats as no one turn up to vote.

Earlier on, Community members prevented EC Officials from dispatching their electotal materials, but the police intervened and the materials was sent to the place.

But Community members decided not to go and vote as EC Officials were sitting without voters.
