The President of the Republic of Ghana and the President Elect, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has addressed the nation after he has been declared winner of the 2020 Presidential Elections. In his address, he thanked Ghanaians for going out in their numbers to vote to re-elect him and give him four more years.
Akufo-Addo said that, the electoral process went well but he condemned certain incident at some places where certain Ghanaians lost their lives. He said that those culprit involved in the shooting incident will be dealt with.
But most importantly, he made mentioned that now that, the Members In Parliament is at balance in number, he expect both the NDC and NPP Parliamentarians will work together for good governance. Reports indicate that, we 137 seats in Parliament for NDC and 137 seats in Parliament for NPP.
Then we have one independent candidate in Parliament, who is the Fomena MP sacked by the New Patriotic Party. Information indicates that, the NPP are now convincing him to join them. Will he join them after they sacked him from the party?
Most Ghanaians have suggested that, the Fomena MP should continue to be an Independent Parliamentarian and help balance decisions and fairness in parliament. Will the NDC MPs supports all decision and policies brought by the NPP in parliament?
I don’t think so. How will we get speaker of parliament now? The NPP and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo now needs NDC supports in parliament for their decision. This is a good news for Ghana as we can now have balance decision in parliament.
