Family is an important aspect in every man’s life because it is with that the man sees himself and his generation to come. Agga Ntrimoah who is the husband of Stella Ntrimoah has taken full blame for the death of Kwesi Nimo after it became public that he was the one who cursed the young man four months ago.
On the night of August 12, Agya Ntrimoah caught a man in the room of his wife and children, it was late so he couldn’t identify the man. The man did not just come to rob but also came to dehumanize the wife and children of Agya Ntrimoah. Stella was sleeping with her children when she heard someone knock at their door at 1am. She thought it was her husband and went to open him. Her husband Agya Ntrimoah works mostly at night because it is there animals come to destroy his rice and maize farm.
Because of lack of funding, Agya Ntrimoah hasn’t been able to secure funding to hire watch rovers who can watch over his farm for him so he sleeps early and wakes up by 8 in the evening to go and watch over his farm with a weapon. He is mostly not at home during the long nights and comes back mostly at dawn or early in the morning.
When Stella heard the knock, she assumed it was her husband and went along to open the door with only a half full cloth she was having. An armed man with a machete attacked Stella and forced her to make him a happy man. Stella at the sound of death was afraid and followed the man’s words exactly. The robber had on his face a full covered mask so no one could identify his identity.
Stella cried as the man played with her for more than 21 minutes. Her cries was heard by her children and they were awoke but the robber threaten to hurt them if they shouted. Agya Ntrimoah was not feeling well so he decided to come home and seek for first aid. He was lucky to get a ride home by a stranger who was using the Afranco road. Upon arrival at his house, he heard his wife murmuring under low tunes.
He quickly run and upon entry he found an armed with machete man on his wife. He struggled with the man and was able to secure the life of his wife and children but the man got away before he was able to take his weapon, the locally made Tiabofre. He fired three shots at the direction the man went and no one was caught or injured. Neighbours came from their rooms when they heard the sound of guns and Stella was taken to the Afrancho Health Center for treatment.
During the struggle with the man in the room, a cell phone fell from the robber’s pocket. Agya Ntrimoah saw a wallpaper on the phone as lock screen saver been the picture of Kwesi Nimo. He took the phone to him and forced him to tell the truth but Kwesi said the phone has gone missing for over one year and his friends can witness to it. Previously, Stella has confessed to her husband Agga Ntrimoah that Kwesi has been making advances to her ever since she came to the town.
Stella who is 25-years, is from a village in the Afram Plains bay. She met Agya Ntrimoah when he went to buy farming seedlings at their village and that is how come Agya married her and brought her to Afrancho. Ever since Stella confessed to her husband of Kwesi’s plans towards her, Agya warned him to stay away from his wife and if he doesn’t, he will kill him. Kwesi since then, did not cross paths with Stella again.
After the robbery aimed at having a time with Stella, neighbours encourage Agya Ntrimoah to make the case a police one so investigations can be done. Agya refused and gave the phone back to Kwesi because he alleged the phone was stolen from him. Agya then went on and did what he did. According to Agya, he went to River Pra, the river of his forefathers and cursed the armed robber who came to destroy his wife and threaten his children. The gods of the river heard him and did justice to him.
Kwesi Nimo suffered stroke and some attributed his condition to all kinds of illness before he died on December 3. The family wanted to bury him but they found out it was a curse and if they don’t look for who is responsible and beg them to overturn the curse, they will all pay for the crimes. The Afrancho traditional fetish priest told the family of Kwesi that he wronged a man. He took the man’s wife and humiliated her whiles her children watch. The man couldn’t stand the sight of it and cursed him.
The family remembered Agya Ntrimoah’s allegations towards Kwesi and went to plead with him to forgive them and overturn the curse. Agya Ntrimoah did not argue when the family visited him yesterday at his house. He told them what he did when Kwesi denied it wasn’t him who did that to his wife and children. Agya is requesting a full cow to please the gods of River Pra because he promised them, if they give him justice, he will bring the cow to them alive.
The family of Kwesi Nimo will also pay for in and out trips to the river side and as well as compensation fees of GH¢4,000 cedis and three creates of eggs to compensate the wife and four sheeps to be slaughtered to please the Afrancho gods because Stella is a married woman. In total the family of Kwesi will pay for a full grown fat cow which is GH¢5,200 plus the sheeps GH¢1800, eggs GH¢55 and Stella’s compensation fees of GH4,000. Making a total of GH¢11,055 before they can overturn the curse and bury Kwesi Nimo.
