Ghana’s Leading Telecommunications Giant, MTN Ghana has embarked on another benevolent exercise by distributing 50 hampers to mothers of Christmas babies at the Tema General Hospital.
In all, the company presented 250 pieces of hampers to mothers across the country.
The hampers contain items including baby oil, baby diapers, hand sanitizers, and many other items for mothers and their newborn babies.
In an interview with the Manager for Sustainability and Social Impact at MTN, Rhoderlyn Entsua Mensah, she noted that MTN Foundation initiated the presentation of hampers to babies born on Christmas Day in 2011.
“The Foundation has been embarking on such benevolent exercise annually to express their love to mothers who gave birth on Christmas Day,” she explained.
According to her, similar philanthropic work has been replicated in other leading hospitals across the region.
The Deputy Director for Nursing Services (DDNS) at the Pediatric Unit Mrs. Nelly Enyimah, who received the items on behalf of the Tema General Hospital and the mothers applauded MTN Foundation for embarking on such benevolent exercise.
Mrs. Nelly Enyimah further seized the opportunity to appeal to MTN and other corporate bodies to come to the aid of the Tema General Hospital to help address minor challenges facing the hospital in order to ensure quality health delivery in the country.
The beneficiary mothers in elation also expressed their profound gratitude for the MTN Ghana for the kind gesture and promised to use the items for the intended purpose.
