A United Nations (UN) representative in Zambia has applauded the country’s efforts in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
It was commendable that the government has shown commitment toward the COVID-19 response since the first case was reported in March last year, UN Resident Coordinator Coumba Mar Gardio told Zambian health minister Jonas Chanda in a virtual meeting Thursday.
The UN will continue supporting Zambia’s efforts against COVID-19 through the mobilization of resources and technical assistance, she said.
On his part, the Zambian minister urged the UN and other partners to continue collaborating with the government in the fight against the pandemic and other diseases. Enditem
