Ablekuma North MCE takes covid-19 jab as vaccination exercise begins

The Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly in collaboration with the Municipal Health Directorate has launched its Covid-19 vaccination campaign with the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon. Kofi Ofori taking the first dose.

In a short address, the MCE urged members of the public not to panic but avail themselves when their time is due to take the vaccine.

He said the proven leadership by the President and his close associates was enough proof of the safeness of the vaccine adding that all should partake of the exercise to help bring life to normalcy.

According to him, the Assembly has embarked on wide engagement with chiefs, religious leaders and other identifiable groups on the vaccination exercise to enlighten the community on the benefit of the vaccine.

The Municipal Health Director, Dr. Yaa Dankwah urged the public to do away with the myth that the vaccine.

She urges Ghanaians to ignore the perception that the vaccine would be used as a trial on Africans.

The Assembly, she said has designated five hospitals for the exercise adding that there are five sub-districts including Awoshie, Darkuman, Kwashieman, Odorkor and South Odorkor.

According to her, the effort was to ensure accessibility to community members to promote wider participation.

The Health Director mentioned that the vaccination would be done in phases adding that sick persons are not qualified to take the vaccine.

She said the second vaccination, would be done in eight weeks from the day of the first vaccination.

Bishop Nii Tackie- Yarboi, Founder and General Overseer of Victory Bible Church International urged the public not to believe the conspiracies theories regarding the vaccine.

The man of God who unexpectedly burst on the scene of vaccination to take his dose said God uses men to bring solutions to problems adding that the vaccine was a testimony of the wisdom of God to man to save the world from the pandemic.

He cautioned those who use religion as a smokescreen to make all kinds of uninformed statements to put a stop it.
