Ten Small Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) from Botswana will participate in the ITB Berlin, the world’s leading annual travel trade show that takes place in Germany.
The SMMEs from the villages of Maun, Kasane, Pilane and Gaborone, sponsored by the Local Enterprise Authority (LEA), are expected to trade in various sub-sectors of tourism that include hospitality, mobile safari and tours as well as travel agency operators.
A press released from LEA in Gaborone said that the travel trade show organized by Messe Berlin is the largest tourism business to business trade fair and will take place from March 9-12, with the first two days reserved for trading and the last two open to consumers. This year’s show, however, will be a virtual event because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The virtual platform will present expert discussions, exhibitor presentations, business partner suggestions, networking features, and business-enhancing functionalities. The virtual trade fair will therefore enhance business linkages with the local and international markets and accord them an opportunity to market their services,” the release read. Enditem
