dpa/GNA – Mick Schumacher doesn’t want to copy his father Michael when it comes to driving style, the Formula One rookie has said.

Haas driver Schumacher told Der Spiegel magazine in an interview published on Friday, that he had to “go a different way” than his father, who won a record seven world championships in his career.
“My driving style wouldn’t have been the right one 20 years ago,” Schumacher said.

That doesn’t change the fact his father is his idol “and I look at what he emphasised as a racing driver,” he stressed.

Mick Schumacher will start his Formula One career this season after winning the Formula Two championship in 2020.
