The Asantehene Otumfou Osei Tutu II has said persons in authority who are fighting the illegal small scale mining (galamsey) in Ghana, know all the miscreants involved in the activities.
He said the fight against galamsey will be easy if indeed the authorities are committed to ending the devastation the activities is causing our water bodies and forest reserves.
Otumfuo said this at a recent event that most chiefs are aware of the people involved in the illicit trade because they give out the land.
He further lambasted chiefs who give out lands to galamseyers to engage in their nefarious activity.[embedded content]
