Nigeria and the Gambia have signed military cooperation documents to tackle insurgency and the common threats on insecurities.
Nigeria’s Defense Minister Bashir Magashi and the Gambian High Commissioner to Nigeria Mohamadou Musa Njie were the signatories for both countries at the signing in Abuja.
An official statement by the Nigerian ministry of defense on Friday said the two west African countries pledged to operationalize the terms and conditions of the memorandum of understanding.
Some specific instances and references were made to the expectations from the newly formalized agreements, which include boosting joint Military maneuverability, operability, as well as tactical and technical synergy, the statement noted.
The two countries also agreed to enhance networking in intelligence sharing, capacity building, and the need to put in place a robust counter trans-national strategy. Enditem
