EU pledges to support Tanzania in fight against Coronavirus

The European Union (EU) on Monday pledged to support Tanzania in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

A statement issued by the Tanzanian Directorate of Presidential Communications said the EU made the pledge in a video conference between Charles Michel, president of the European Council, and Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

Michel said the EU is ready to support Tanzania in efforts aimed at establishing industries for producing vaccines for the pandemic, said the statement signed by Jaffar Haniu, the director for Presidential Communications.

According to the statement, Hassan thanked the EU for its commitment to help Tanzania in fighting the pandemic.

She said the east African nation has joined the the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access program to reinforce the fight against the pandemic. Enditem
