Sauti Sol can’t stop winning.
The group just won two awards at the fifth edition of the HiPipo Music Awards, held at the Serena Hotel in Kampala. The awards were for ‘Song of The Year Kenya’ and ‘East Africa Super Hit’. Their track ‘Unconditionally Bae’ which is a collaboration with Tanzania’s Ali Kiba enabled them to win the award.

As expected, the stars of the night both came from the host country.
Ugandan artiste Sheebah Karungi, took home four awards namely: Artiste of The Year, Best Female Artiste, Best Afro Beat Song and Video of The Year. Veteran Bebe Cool scooped two awards namely, Music Icon of the Decade and Best Male.
I thought such an award should go to Chameleone. He’s clearly been Uganda’s standout performer over the last fifteen years. What do you think?
Bongo superstar Diamond Platnumz who is currently embroiled in a drug trafficking scandal won the Quinquennial Africa Music Vanguard Award and the East Africa Best Video for ‘Salome’ featuring Rayvanny.
The HiPipo Music Awards is held annually to celebrate music excellence in Uganda and East Africa.
Here is how Sauti Sol shared the news:
