Hearts rubbish claims owner Togbe Afede XIV has blocked attempts to re-sign contract rebels Atingah, Kizito

Hearts of Oak have denied circling media reports that majority shareholder Togbe Afede XIV has blocked any attempts to re-sign two contract rebels Vincent Atingah and Kwame Kizito.

The two players are among a host of top stars who left the club at the end of the season under bitter circumstances.

Both Atingah and Kizito are now free agents after securing their floating status.

Shocking media reports have claimed the two players are negotiating a return to the club after turning down an earlier contract extension moves.

But the club’s under-pressure majority shareholder Togbe Afede XIV, has reportedly blocked the move – amid claims undermining the integrity of the Ghanaian giants.

However, the club’s spokesman Kwame Opare Addo has rejected the claims as  complete falsehood.

“Sometimes I find it strange. Some (media) people probably in a bid to satisfy their employers, create sensational stories. I don’t get it,” he told Atinka FM

“I can confirm that at a board meeting, it was only Togbe Afede who insisted that once the transfer window has not shut, we should never close the door on these players because we have nurtured them.

“It’s never true that the board chairman has put an embargo on them.”

Already, striker Kwame Kizito has denied claims of begging to return to the club while Atingah has insisted he has no plans of featuring for the Phobians.
