Nsawam-based Division Two side Satellite City FC will be Africa’s sole representative in the 2018 Dallas Cup scheduled to take place in the US next month.
The Ghanaian club is expected to depart Ghana in the middle of next month for the competition which will feature the likes of Arsenal, Fulham and Dortmund.
The U-18 tournament will offer the Ghanaian side the platform to showcase Ghanaian brand of football to the rest of the world, especially America, and also create numerous opportunities for the leadership of the club as well as the players.
The club that was formed in less than two years precisely in October 2016 have recently moved to New Abrew near Nkawkaw to acclimatise ahead of the trip.
The side is expected to travel with 22 players, 3 management members and 7 technical team members.
CEO of the side, Samuel Yeboah told Ghanasoccernet.com how the trio is expected to foster trabsfer relationship between Satellites City FC and other clubs that will participate in the tournament.
“Our agent made sure this trip is possible and we are grateful for that.
“We are looking forward to use this platform to create opportunities for many Ghanaian talented footballers who are struggling to realise their dreams due to some obvious reasons,” he said.
As the only club from Africa, Satellite City FC are expected to hold the flag of the continent as well as that of Ghana high in the tournament when it finally kicks off late next month.
