Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso played a vital role for Jinagsu Suning in their quarter final victory over Chongqing Lifan in the Chinese Super League.
The swashbuckling midfielder played 89 minutes as Suning recorded a 1-0 win at the Suzhou Olympic Sports Complex to progress 2-1 on aggregate.
Ivan Santini’s scored the only goal in the 8th minute to secure the home side progress to the next stage.
Wakaso was instrumental in the first leg when Jiangsu Suning drew 1-1.
The 30-year-old has been in outstanding form for the Suning based club since arriving in January from La Liga outfit Deportivo Alaves.
The Black Stars midfielder will be hoping to win the Chinese Super League this season.
Jiangsu Suning are yet to find out their next opponents at the semifinal stage.
