John Antwi’s absence from the Pyramids FC attack caused them the CAF Confederation Cup final loss – Egyptian Coach

Egyptian coach Mohamed Nour claims the decision to start Ghanaian forward John Antwi from the bench in the CAF Confederation Cup final led to Pyramids FC defeat.

The former Ittihad Alexandria trainer says Pyramids coach Ante Cacic made a mistake in naming his starting lineup to face RS Berkane in the final without Antwi.

Pyramids lost 1-0 to the Moroccans at the Stade Prince Moulay-Abdellah in Rabat on Sunday.

Antwi was introduced in the game in the 66th minute but that wasn’t enough for the Egyptian moneybags.

“The absence of John Antwi from the Pyramids attack caused the loss of the Confederation, and there was a composition in the Pyramids formation by their coach,” Nour said on Al Nahar Channel.

The 28-year-old striker scored 6 goals in 11 appearances for Pyramids in the CAF Confederation Cup this season.

Antwi is the highest scoring foreigner in the history of Egyptian football.
