RE-LIVE: Ghana Premier League transfer deadline day

The Ghana Premier League transfer window has slammed shut after a not too busy deadline day. 

Obviously the biggest news is the confirmation of Asamoah Gyan’s return to the top-flight after 17 years.

Below is recap of deadline day activities.

00:15 – Kotoko made a last minute attempt to sign Justice Blay from Medeama but they failed. The midfielder stays.

20:00 – Finally, the news we all have been waiting for. Legend Asamoah Gyan returns to Ghana by signing for Legon Cities. Full story.

19: 00 – Aduana Stars are set to complete the signing of midfield dynamo Emmanuel Osei Baffour, according to reports.

18: 53 – Legon Cities confirm signing of defender Michael Ampadu. Full Story. 

15:30 – King Faisal secure the services of attacker Gideon Ofori Offei on loan from Dreams.

15:00 – Inter Allies FC have announced the signing of striker Taufiq Shaibu from Division One side Tudu Mighty Jets for an undisclosed fee. Full story

14: 39 – Inter Allies FC to complete the signings of Liberian striker Chauncey Freeman and former Tema Youth defender Francis Adjetey

13:40 – King Faisal complete signings of Sadick Adams, Pius Baffour, Prince Papa Arko, Yakubu Wadudu and Kwadwo Frimpong.

13:23 – No confirmation of Asamoah Gyan’s reported move to Legon Cities.

13:19 – AshantiGold trying to seal deals for former Dreams FC captain Abdul Bashiru and David Yeboah.

13:13 – Sam Adams rejoins Aduana Stars after parting ways with Asante Kotoko.

He had been training with Aduana since last month.

He joined Asante Kotoko in December 2019 after leaving Aduana following the expiration of his contract.

Adams managed only three appearances for the Porcupine Warriors in the Ghana Premier League last season.

11:36 – James Wiafe ‘Iniesta’ in search of regular playing time has joined Berekum Chelsea on loan from Dreams FC.

11:34 –Berekum Chelsea have lost their captain Zakaria Fusseni, who has joined Spanish Tercera Division side San Fernando. He has joined them on a season-long loan.
