Ex-Kotoko defender Emmanuel Agyeman Badu opens up on leaving the club

Former Asante Kotoko defender Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has disclosed why he refused a contract extension at the club.

The central defender parted ways with the clubs after the expiration of his contract.

Agyemang Badu stated he had performed very well for the club during his stay and deserved a good contract instead of what was proposed by the club.

The player was left out of the team’s training camp to Takoradi as the two parties were still in negotiations.

According to reports, the new policy by the club to stop paying signing on fee of players also led to the player deciding not to renew his contract.

Speaking in an interview, Emmanuel Agyeman Badu revealed why he failed to sign a new deal with the club.

“I didn’t want to continue with my career in Ghana that’s why I couldn’t register for Kotoko. As a young player, I can rate my performance 85% with my stint with Kotoko. Kotoko Offer given to me wasn’t reasonable that’s why I didn’t continue with Kotoko”, Agyeman-Badu told Ashh FM.
