Off she goes: Ellie Goulding was spotted jetting out of Melbourne in Sunday in a casual getup of leggings and a t-shirt
While Ellie sang live at the match, the wrong backing track was played at the beginning of her first song prompting confusion among fans.
Dismissing accusations that she was lip syncing, a spokesman for the star told Daily Mail Australia: ‘Ellie sang fully live. She was singing live vocal to track and the wrong track was initially played.’
The Brit also took to Twitter to dispel rumours, writing: ‘Love it when people think I lip sync, what a rad compliment.
Affectionate: The singer was seen hugging a friend with her passport and boarding pass in hand as they waited to clear security

Her comments were echoed by the match’s organisers. Michael Gudinski, producer of the Toyota AFL Grand Final Entertainment said: ‘This is a very common practice for performances in situations such as the Grand Final.
‘Unfortunately a technical issue at the start of Ellie’s performance caused a brief hiccup but Ellie went on to prove just how much of a superstar she is, belting out two of her massive hits. Claims that Ellie lip synced her performance are absolutely untrue.’
Viewers were quick to speculate when the singer struggled her way through the opening lines of her first song due to the technical glitch.
As she flew out of Melbourne for Sydney on Sunday Ellie opted for comfort, sporting black leggings and a t-shirt for her flight.
Glitch: While Ellie was singing live, her backing track got off to a shaky start prompting confusion among fans
Her performance at Melbourne Cricket Ground came after an appearance on Network Ten’s The Project during which the singer said she still lived in ‘university mode’ when it came to spending.
Despite her $27million fortune, Ellie said she had not bought anything extravagant since shooting to fame, citing her London apartment as her only major purchase.
‘I haven’t ever bought anything extravagant really, I buy a lot of clothes but I’m still in university mode, living off £5 a day and never affording anything,’ she told the show.
‘I haven’t bought a car. I bought a house because I needed to live somewhere but as long as I’ve got a roof over my head, I’m fine,’ the singer added.
Frugal: Earlier in the week the 28-year-old said she lived on $10 a day as though she was still in university
