Brighton vs Tottenham prediction: How will Premier League fixture play out today?

Tottenham travel south to Brighton in a pivotal game that will have ramifications at both ends of the Premier League table.

The Seagulls were held midweek by Fulham, but Graham Potter has been encouraged by recent performances from his side.

Albion will hope to take advantage of potentially tired legs from the visitors tonight, knowing it is their third game of the week.

“I know that it’s not easy if you haven’t been playing football for a while to suddenly hit the ground running in the Premier League, it’s not that simple, regardless of who you are,” Potter said of Bale. “You need a bit of time, you need to get into that rhythm, adapt to the league, even though he’s coming in having been here in the past. If you haven’t been playing regularly, the demands and the intensity of it are quite strong and then he’s going to a club that’s obviously got competition and good players. I haven’t given it a massive amount of thought but it’s a lot to do with the challenges of the Premier League.”

What is the team news?

Spurs, meanwhile, are contending without talisman Harry Kane, who is out for “a few weeks” with an ankle injury. Dele Alli, linked with an exit before Monday’s deadline, has a tendon injury. Mourinho will also be without Sergio Reguilon (muscle) and Giovani Lo Celso (hamstring) once more.

Predicted line-ups

Brighton XI: Sanchez; Webster, Dunk, Burn; Veltman, White, Bissouma, Lallana, March; Maupay, Trossard

Tottenham XI: Lloris; Doherty, Rodon, Dier, Davies; Hojbjerg, Winks; Bergwijn, Ndombele, Son, Vinicius

What are the odds?

Brighton: 2/1

Tottenham: 11/8

Prediction

A crucial game for Jose Mourinho and his ability to inspire a top four push, particularly without Harry Kane. Can he find a solution to Spurs’ attacking threat without his greatest weapon? Brighton meanwhile will not be satisfied with just a point and always play to win, the fragile nature of Spurs’ back line against Liverpool may provide encouragement, and for that reason we’ll opt for a draw, a common result at the Amex in recent times. Brighton 1-1 Tottenham.
