England edge France to win Women’s Six Nations for third successive year

England have won the Women’s Six Nations for a third successive time after grinding out a 10-6 victory over France.

Poppy Cleall scored the crucial try in a closely-fought match at Twickenham Stoop.

Simon Middleton’s side were pushed hard though and had their lead cut to just a point by Caroline Drouin’s two penalties.

But the Red Roses’ defence were able to bend and not break, allowing Emily Scarratt’s penalty to nudge them clear and ultimately clinch the title.
